Things To Remember Before Your Trip

BAGGAGE 

  • Always follow the airline baggage weight limit.  Excess  weight  is always with a fee.

  • Make sure the size of your suitcase is within the allowable dimension of  the airline

    and tour company.

  • In most countries – trains, ferries, hotels may not have baggage handling so expect to carry your own bags.

  • Be aware that certain items may not be stored in your carry on like liquids, razors, knives and the like.

  • If you wish to lock your suitcase,  use  the TSA locks. 

  • It is prohibited to bring in foreign food/plants in the U.S.

 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

  • Check your airline ticket – make sure your name matches the name in your passport.

  • Aside from printed airline itinerary,  have an electronic copy saved on your phone or tablet.

  • Leave copy of  your  flight schedule  and tour itinerary to your family member or friend  in case there is a  need to reach you.

  • Your passport needs to be valid six (6)  months  from the date of your return.  

  • Certain countries may require visa and other travel documentations,  make sure you comply and meet the requirements. 

  • Make photocopies  of your passport and place one copy in each of your bags.  Just in case  it got  lost, you  kept   the information which  makes it easier to get a new one. 

     

PACKING

  • It is always best to travel light, make sure you  pack  items   that you will only need.  Aside from clothes/shoes,  essentials  could be medicines,  first aid kit, phone, chargers and batteries.  

  • Be aware of the  current weather  to  your destination  in order to bring  the appropriate  clothes.

  • Bring items that you can mix and match and roll it to create more room in your luggage.  Remember  to bring  only comfortable shoes.  Footwear  that are not 

  • Pack the heaviest  items  at the bottom of your suitcase.  

     

CASH/CREDIT CARDS

  • Visa and Master Cards are widely acceptable anywhere.  In some selected countries,  American  Express  can be used  too.

  • Many  banks  allow to withdraw  cash  from  an ATM in a foreign country.  Check with your bank if this is possible.

  • It is NOT advisable to bring in large amount of cash nor expensive jewelries.

  • It is best to notify your credit card company bank that you are traveling internationally. 

  • Check the current rate of exchange to your destination. 

  • Make sure you keep the telephone numbers of your credit card company in another bag  in case  you misplace or   lost your credit card. 

  • Never store your valuables in suitcases.

MEDICATION/ SPECIAL DIET

  • Be sure to bring enough medication for the entire trip. All medications should be in their original bottles.

  • If you have  illness and require medication, bring a note from the doctor along  with the phone number where the doctor can be reached in case of emergency. 

  • Advise your travel advisor in advance should you require special diet. 

  • Make sure your first aid kit includes something for pain, diarrhea, allergy, dizziness and cream for itch.   

SIM CARDS

  • SIM cards are available to almost all international airports.  By getting one, it enables you to make and receive local calls.  It comes with data, so you can still keep up  with your  social media  postings while abroad. 

POWER SUPPLY

  • Some countries are using  different power supply, its best to bring an electrical

    converter  for 220V electricity.   United  States is using the 110V power supply.
